If you have an IRA, you likely know about federally mandated required minimum distributions (RMDs). Among the options for putting those withdrawals to use, you may wish to consider using your RMD funds to donate directly to a qualified charitable organization. You can avoid paying tax on your RMD by simply using that money to contribute to your favorite charity or non-profit in the amount up to $100,000.

John Engelhardt and Diane Williams

For over four decades, Diane Williams and her husband John Engelhardt have been dedicated supporters of ACHF. According to Diane, a retired pediatrician whose practice was across the street from Ashland Community Hospital, she remains indebted to the staff and facilities that the hospital provided to her patients.

The Legacy of Ruth T. Evans

Born in 1916, Ruth Evans was a registered nurse who served as a captain in the Army Nurses Corps. After the war, she met and married her husband Dr. William Evans in 1947. Together they raised two daughters and moved to Ashland in 1998 where Ruth established a music scholarship at Southern Oregon University as well as several other funds to support local projects she cared about.
